One more reason to think about engagement channels, not just referral or direct conversion channels. Just like LLMs shape brand perception, so does YouTube and has been for many years.

How deep are you into doing YouTube in your consulting? For example, do you also analyze and work out a strategy for it as a channel?

P.S. I'm really slacking in commenting on your posts. :D I read all of it though!

No worries! No obligation, but your comments are always appreciated :).

In my client work we focus mainly on strategy, but like for the SEO work, I always show some examples and tactical recommendations.

Thanks for the insight.

How much extra time do the videos add on top of writing the articles? One of my Q1 goals was to launch a newsletter myself (not focused on SEO) and I thought about reading out my own articles as an option.

Video seems way more appealing though (and like a lot more work). :D I once had a try at running a channel and it cost a lot of time to produce a video. However, I didn't base them on existing content, in your case a written article.

I would say it takes about the same time, maybe a little more, because I'm still new to the way of working. But I expect the creation time to come down to the same level as the newsletter, maybe even lower. Descript makes it much faster to edit (and I'm planning to outsource that part), and then to create the email from the transcript rather than the other way 'round.

Mega gut Kevin - und danke für deinen effort mit dem Video-Content. Top, um in den Tag zu starten. Danke!

Loving your video content Kevin, and thanks for the framework. I struggle to get buy-in from analytics-obsessed COOs, and this might just help!

it's my pleasure :)

Interesting insights on YouTube! What about product-led growth for SaaS products? I would rarely purchase a subscription unless I view a demo/walk-through in order to get familiar with the platform

Can you refine the question? The way I understand it is "should companies put product demos/walk-throughs on Youtube". Is that right?

Yes that is right, particularly SaaS companies!

In my experience, companies are way too hesitant to put their demos out there. Many of them are scared that viewers don't have the necessary context or questions that aren't answered, but it's more important to get potential customers excited in the first place. So, I'd do it. But it's just one small part of a Youtube strategy.
